About Us
We established Lang Tree Management in the world
heritage listed Blue Mountains in 1980. Initially, we specialised in tree
surgery. Today, we provide a wide range of highly qualified and expert
professional services associated with arboriculture, with heritage landscape
restoration emerging as a significant area of work and interest.
These professional services include the provision
of qualified advice on all matters pertaining to trees, landscape and
horticulture. We also continue to carry out tree surgery, tree transplantation,
tree pruning and tree removal.
Our principal aim is to ensure that professional
advice offered, and practical treatments recommended for trees and plants, are
up to date and relevant. To this end, we are actively participating in ongoing
education to enhance existing knowledge and experience. Also, when necessary,
confirmation of plant disease diagnosis and recommended soil treatments are
checked by suitably accredited laboratories.
John Lang’s expertise extends beyond arboriculture
and horticulture to include previous mechanical engineering and land survey
qualifications and experience. This knowledge and expertise has enhanced the
Bachelor of Horticulture degree completed in 2007. Major areas of study for the
degree were, and continue to be, landscape design and plant biology.
The 10/50 Vegetation Clearing Entitlement Area
legislation, which is now in place, permits greater flexibility with respect to
fire hazard mitigation on residential properties in New South Wales. This
relaxation of environmental constraints also provides an opportunity for
landscape adjustment in fire prone areas. These adjustments, through suitable
tree replacement strategies, can assist residential property owners to protect
their properties during bush fires from extreme heat and ember attack.
